Moshman's HU and my future plans

Hello again, Christmas ends and I am backing to normal life. I am playing HU sit and goes. So far play small amount of these games but in new year I am planning to play more. Planning to play in full tilt poker platform. It seems better for me. I am very happy that I will get $75 iron man bonus. So in next year I am planning every month to get at least bronze iron man status. I probably will play $10 HU stg, and some micro stakes cash.

Now my laptop computer in the service, but this or next week I will probably get it back. So there is some live sessions in my plans. I hope this blog readers will help to develop my game, and others will find something useful for their game.  I think enough to talk about my future plans. Today I want introduce another book.

Collin Moshman “HEADS-UP NO-LIMIT HOLD’EM”. This is a great book for heads up stg players. I am reading it by myself and I like it. I really don’t know what to tell about this book. I recommend you to download this book and to look by yourself. As usual you will find a link at the end of this post.

I think that could be that I will not had computer and internet for a week or smth like that. So will not post for a while. But when I will be back I hope I will have some news.

In beginning I would like to talk a little about this book. “The Poker Mindset” is not about the poker strategies. This book is about the way you should to think in poker. Authors write about tilt control, variation, how you should react to bad beats, bankroll management and other usefully stuff for poker player.

Back where started

Hi all, I am back. Sorry for that empty month but I had really lot of work to do. But now I have more time.  But I don’t know is this will be to long, because I got an offer to go to the job interview in one insurance company. I am very excited. I am studying financial economics and work in this company would be great work experience which is very important when looking for a job. But don’t think too far, I still don’t have this job, just going to the interview.

And now a little bit about poker. I don’t know what happened but I feel that I lost my love for this game. I thought that I just get bored from holdem, so tried to grind some stud hi/lo and razz, but after twenty minutes I am getting bored. Then I am starting tilting and do stupid things. Then I remember old times then I was a beginner in poker. How I was enjoying when I beated other player, when I was wining every dollar. After that I back to full tilt and play some HU stg’s. And I enjoyed that. That feeling not to grind but to beet other player come back.

Now I understood that I want to play poker not to become a rich or for a living, but just for fun. That’s how I started.

From these graphs you can see that most of my profit is made from HU.

HUD

Yesterday I was planning to play longer session, but my neighbors wanted  to play some life cash game and off course I agree with this advertisement.  We were only four and played 0.10LT/0.20LT cash. (LT is Lithuania money “Litas”. 1LT is about 0.4USD) I won about 37LT. Its almost 2 buyins . I am happy because I played solidly, don’t did any mistakes and used my opponents leaks for my advantage.

But today I would like to talk about Holdem Manager HUD which I am using for NL holdem full ring games. I really like color ranges option for HUD stats. It really helps when multitabling. If I see lots of green numbers in player HUD window that means that he is a bad player who playing lots of hands and he is very aggressive. If I see player with lots of red numbers, I know that he is a nit which is very passive.  Blue colour, means that player has optimal stats, and we can guess that he is a good player.

My HUD looks like this:

What helps multitabling?

Hi, today I had a short poker session. I played only 45 minutes because I live in the student house and we have internet which divided to all residents. So now is a time when most of people using internet and PokerStars lagging a little bit. Maybe it’s don’t make uncomfortable when playing small amount of tables but it really makes me tilt when I am playing 24 tables, when you have to use every second. But I had played about 900 hands and I am planning to play longer session later, when I will have a better connection.

Now I would like to talk a little bit about multitabling. I am playing 24 tables on my 15 inch laptop computer screen. Before I was tilling tables, but they was very small and it was difficult to see an action from longer distance. Now I am leaving tables in original side how PokerStars putting them. That is much more comfortable for me because I can play from longer distance.

I am playing in micro levels, but I can’t imagine myself playing without tracking software and HUD. I am using  Holdem Manager. It was a time when I was thinking what to buy : Holdem Manager or Poker Tracker. I am very happy that I decide to buy Holdem Manager.  A bit more about Holdem Manager (HEM) and HUD I will speak in the future.

Another poker software which I am using is Table Ninja. It’s amazing stuff for multitabling. It helps to register to the tables, makes bet size which you program into it, push auto post big blind, time bank, I am back and other annoyances which you don’t want to do. I can’t imagine massive multitabling without Table Ninja.

About week ago I find new way how to make my multitabling more comfortable.  Before I was using table ninja and keyboard for playing (it’s much more comfortable and faster than playing with the mouse). But I found one article the one guy is playing poker with joystick. That’s sounded nice for me and I was decided to try this. I found my old joystick which I was bought about 5 years ago to play ”NBA life” on PC. To play poker with joystick you need table ninja (I am not sure can you play without it or not) and one more program “Xpadder” which transfer joystick buttons clicks to keyboard buttons. You can buy it for $10, or download for free from link in the end of this post. This program working with almost all joysticks (included: Xbox, Playstation and my old Logic3).

Hello, I am a poker player. Let’s say my name is sblga. Truly this is my nickname in poker rooms. Long time I was preparing to create something like blog in English. But English isn’t my native language, and it’s a little bit difficult to blog in this language. So now I am sorry for all my future language mistakes.  I believe that you will understand what I will have in my mind.

So what this blog will be about? The basic theme of this blog will be poker. I am playing this game about 4 years. But I don’t have such results which I would like to have in such period of time.  I hope that this blog will help me to have better results and improve my game and language.

My playing style: now I am planning regulary play NL holdem. Now I am playing in NL5 limit 24 tables at PokerStars. Now my goal is to develop my multitabling skills and build bankroll to play in NL10 level.  Now looks like that I am backing to the game after huge downswing which was about 1.5 month long. I couldn’t win anything what I was crushing before. 

So, now my goal is to rebuild my lost part of bankroll and next year start in NL10 level.

I thing this will be enough for my first post.  Sorry for my not perfect language and discursive minds. Now is 2am in Lithuania.
